General Assembly

The General Assembly is OTIF’s supreme decision-making body. It holds an ordinary session every three years. It can also hold extraordinary sessions.

In particular, the General Assembly takes decisions on proposals to amend the Convention. Depending on the case, two thirds or half of the Member States must approve the adopted amendments. The Member States are free to approve the amendments when they wish to.

Amendments then enter into force 12 months after they have been approved by the Member States.
