The RID Committee of Experts meets every two years. It takes decisions on proposals to amend Appendix C to COTIF, i.e. amendments to the Regulation concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail and its annex (RID).

The RID Committee of Experts approves the decisions of the RID/ADR/ADN Joint Meeting and takes decisions on amendments that only concern rail transport, such as the requirements applicable to railway vehicles carrying dangerous goods.
