Rail Facilitation Committee
The Rail Facilitation Committee is an organ of OTIF set up under COTIF 1999. In principle, all the Member States are represented in this Committee.
Its purpose is to contribute to the removal of obstacles to the crossing of frontiers in international traffic to the extent that the causes of these obstacles are within the responsibility of States.
In order to achieve its aim, the Rail Facilitation Committee may recommend methods, procedures and practices aimed at facilitating the crossing of borders in international rail traffic.
The recent study on the corridors and the legal problems relating to the issue of access to the network in the project for interoperability beyond the EU might be subjects to initiate this Committee’s activities.
